Getting You Noticed (submit your site)

Post-design, Post-testing... This will get you noticed!

Once your website is up and running, you will want to make it accessible online to the world. While there are many ways to get this accomplished, this page is a list of FREE methods. Keep in mind that results vary depending on your industry and location (For example there are many Realtors in San Francisco, and fewer aerial photographers which means that the smaller your industry is the easier it is for you to list high up in the Google searches.

Websites you will need to go to and register your site. Normally you can only register only a month. Read the directions carefully on each linked page, if you break their rules you run the risk of having your site blacklisted (which is as unpleasant as it sounds), meaning you will be banned and not recognized in the searches.

You will need to know 2 things before you go these websites:
  • Website Keywords (what people type in search engines to find you)
  • Description (the description text of your website)
You can find this information by choosing VIEW from the top menu and then SOURCE (or PAGE SOURCE). Once you do this a window will display with a lot of code. Read from the top of the page until you find:
meta name="keywords"
and
meta name="description"
Displaying after these two tags are lines of text you need for submitting your website. If you don't the search will not work as effectively. These two areas are usually in the first few lines of the page of code. Once you know this information proceed with these links.
